The beginning of our universe seems to be a pretty prickly affair to many of the astronomers alive today the world over. They have come to the conclusion that the age of the universe is about 14 billion years...give or take a billion. They claim that all of the universe came from one tiny point in dark space, a singularity, that exploded around 14 billion years ago. They have dubbed it "The Big Bang". The universe is now moving at an incredible speed away from the center. God, in the first line of the first book of the Holy Bible, is never mentioned. He is forgotten by the scientists.
Now. The reason I mention this is because our space telescope, The Hubble, has just taken a photograph of the most distant galaxy every found. It is some 13-billion years away. It is a tremendous achievement. It's in the news as I write this.
The astronomers are all excited. It's the closest galaxy ever found that is that close to the "Big Bang". It's still a billion years off, but nonetheless, the closest we have seen.
But what if we could put a camera somewhere in that galaxy just discovered and point it toward ourselves? We would then be the one that was 13 billion years old; less than a billion years from the origination of it all. How does that make you feel?
There's another problem. Where in the universe did the Big Bang take place? I don't have a clue and neither do the astronomers. There's a lot of universe out there. Where's the middle? The edges? How can you get something from nothing?
I could go on but the fact is that the Holy Bible tells us how the universe was formed. The astronomers and scientists who go along with the big bang theory do so at their own peril. They will look at everything except the Holy Bible.
"In the beginning God created the the heaven and the earth."
That single sentence right at the beginning of Genesis holds all the truth I need.

"They will look at everything except the Holy Bible."
Yes! This is true with the scientists and astronomers. However, I find that those in the churches today, rely and trust in everyone and every thing, except, "The Bible." I find it incredible that the Bible is used only as a support reference book for the pastor or teacher to guide their flocks. Incredible!!!
So, in my travels and communications, I have yet to find anyone that believes the Bible over man and his imagination.
My goal: To get those who are seeking the truth of God's written word to become "Bereans." Bereans are those people that received the word at the hand of Paul and verified all via the written word, to see if those things were so...
bibletalk: Thanks for your comment.
Question: Cantonmiller4, are we going in the same direction? Do we hear the same things when we read the Bible? According to our approaches, I would say that we differ. That being said, I would ask why we differ. Is it because I have misunderstood the Bible? Could it be you are connected to God and His word and I am not?
The fact is, We Differ! If we are seeking the truth, peace and eternal life, what would it take for us to unite, according to cantonmiller4?
bibletalk: I do not concern myself with wondering if I unite with someone else or not. I concern myself with what is written in the Holy Bible. The only problem I have is getting a human being to shake his head, get all the biblical teachings he has received out of it, and concentrate only on what is taught by following in the steps of Jesus and believing in God and the Holy Ghost.
Through the centuries, man had contrived to make the bible what he believes it to be...to make it a primer according to him. That has turned into a nightmare. There are as many types of Christians as their are types of the bibles in existence. The past centuries of Catholicism are the worst. They even changed the bible to adhere to their human beliefs and published their own version. Human beings at work.
I'm not looking to unite anyone. I pray every day that I might be able to show someone through my writing what is true and what is not. To point out verses and paragraphs that ministers are avoiding simply because they can't understand them. To get away from the human approach and get back to the spiritual. To get back to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. To get man to understand that his existence is only temporary and not to listen to mere mortals when there is a living bible to go to that tells the truth.
I'm not looking to unite with anyone of this earth. Time here on earth is far too short. Time to quit bowing our heads and begin looking up, as Jesus told us to do.
I appreciate your candid reply!
Note: Since we do differ, and what you write is true and from the written word, can only mean that I err, and need correction. That being said, what would you correct first?
For the record: My tools for study are (1) The Bible(KJV), (2) Strong's Concordance, and (3) Smith's Bible Dictionary....
I spent my earlier years being taught and lead about to believe a host of doctrines, of which I left off believing and have turned strictly to the written word. Nowadays, when I do attend a church, I learn things, but not what's taught. From what is taught, I go to the written to verify, but cannot find it as it was taught. But along the way, I find other things that I otherwise would not have learned if it had not been for the wrong teachings...This is why I promote becoming a Berean, meaning, to verify all that you hear before you believe. Since I began to verify what I am told, I have distance myself form many.
Question: How are you on being questioned about your beliefs?
As for bibletalk: 24/7 for any questions about the written word, because all that I believe from it, I can read for myself and qoute to anyone at anytime. Seeing most church goers don't study the written word, I am not asked many questions, even though I differ....
bibletalk: You have all the resource material you'll ever need. I have spent the last 40 years of my life thinking and reading the bible. I cannot help you. It's up to each of us to follow his/her calling and respond where it's applicable. I can't help you because it's every day that I come accross something different and unusual in the bible. I don't know what I'll be writing tomorrow. I don't know if I'll still be alive 30-seconds from now...or 30-years from now. Only God knows. And God knows that many people are using the Holy Bible incorrectly, that is, attributing man made efforts to divine guidance.
But in the meantime, I'll keep writing. I don't exactly know what. I pray for guidance and He seems to let it out in very small increments. But it's enough for me. I'll keep doing it. You should too.
I don't know what to tell you. Just keep on writing and praying. Sometime it will come. I don't know what it will be or when it will be, but I do know it will come. Good-bye and good-luck.
