There are a few verses in Mark, just as there are a few verses in all of the bible, that warn us of the time we're living in and the thorns alongside the road.
Mark 4:18-20 "And these are they which are sown among the thorns; such as hear the word,
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred."
This says that there are good people on the earth. Not many but some. They are living among thorns. The way for them is not easy but with the help of God, they will prevail.
The earth is spinning out of control, even as I write this. The end of times is being set up. There is nothing we can do about it. Absolutely nothing.
Well, almost nothing. We can watch the earth and all it's problems getting worse and know that the end is coming. We can worship and we can pray. What is going to happen will happen no matter who says it isn't and no matter who tries to stop it. It's written very clearly in the bible. It's going to happen.
Our Number 1 defense against armageddon is prayer. It is the heart and soul of all understanding. We must forget about men's troubles on earth and pray to the God that is above us.
We must do it right. We must open up to God. We must let out hearts and souls speak to Him. We can no longer hope that He doesn't discover the things that we secretly keep away from Him. Not a single person on earth is without sin.
When we pray we must open up to God. Open our hearts and souls to Him that created us. Let Him know everything...because He already does. Prayer is not the place to be bashful. God knows you. He knows each of you very well. A lie in a prayer is an impossible contradiction in terms. A lie or blatant omission is cause for the entire prayer to go up in smoke. You may go that way to.
Be brutally honest with prayer. It's no time to be human. It's time to get spiritual. Tell Him everything because He already knows all there is to know about you.
Then get along with your prayer. You will find that it is the richest and most rewarding way to communicate with God, with all your sins and faults as a human being, that you could ever hope to have.
You will notice a change in your life. A very good change that will grow over time and forever change you. You will be at peace.
Amen.
