A Break For Genocide Numbers

I'll take a small break, if God doesn't mind, to give you some genocide information. Genocide is generally the killing of a particular lot of people the government in power doesn't want around. In could be because of  religion, race, education, color, ham sandwiches or not ham sandwiches...just about anything. I have to thank R. J. Rummel for most of the numbers. They are from a report of research that began in 1986 on genocide and mass murder in the 20th century alone.

Here are the culprits:

1. The Soviet Union: about 62,000,000 men, women and children

2. The Communist Government of China: 35,000,000 men, women and children.

3. Nazi Germany: 21,000,000 men, women and children.

4. Nationalist China: 10,000,000 men, women and children.

Lesser megamurderers include WW II Japan, Khmer Rouge Cambodia, WW I Turkey, Communist Vietnam, post-WW II Poland, Pakistan and Communist Yugoslavia. The most intense magamurderer was carried out by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, where they killed over 30% of their subjects in less than four years. The best predictor of this kind of killing is regime power. The more arbitrary power a regime has, the less democratic it is, the more likely it will kill its subjects or foreigners.  The conclusion is that power kills, absolute power kills absolutely. -----R. This is in one century alone. If we go back to the 1800's we have to include the U. S. of America for it's killing of the native Indian population and it's killing of slaves. Back even further, to the Old Testament, we find God killing millions and millions of folk that tried to harm the Hebrews. It never ends. Only the time changes.

I remind you that the time is now to prepare yourself. Get yourself right with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. You just don't know what will happen in the future.
