Baptism And Wisdom

December 2, 2005 / by cantonmiller4

It is fitting that in our present shape on this earth we all have a tendency to associate wisdom to wealth. There is no such thing as a poor wise man any more. Everything comes down to the dollar bill. It is almost everybody's God.

When Christ was baptized by John the Baptist, He was a young man. He was not an infant. Children do not need baptism. They are under the care of God in those wonderful, young years. If they die or are taken at an early age, it is God's will and they will be in heaven.

But at Christ's age, God has begun letting go to see how the mature man/woman will handle themselves stuck in the middle of this mess.
That's when it is extremely important to be baptized.

Baptism is a cleaning of a sort. When you are submersed, the entire body, by the way, is cleaned and you come up out of the water sin free.
It is from then on you make the decisions that will affect your eternal life. Satan has entered it. Remember that baptism is so important that without it you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. It's that simple.

But suppose you become a wise and knowing man/woman whose every word comes true. The only way the rest of the world can know it is to see your wealth. But you are preparing for your kids and grandkids to have a good life with the money you make being wise and knowing.

This wisdom could come in any field, in any discipline. It makes no difference. You're only going to live a few more years anyway. On your deathbed you're thinking that maybe you have too much money. So you give some of it to build a hospital wing or something like that. Then you die. Finis.

In I Corinthians, chapter 3, verses 18 and beyond, John writes, "Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are in vain. Therefore let no man glory in men..."

Have these wise and knowing men never heard the parable of the rich man and the eye of a needle? That parable is straight off Jesus Christ's lips.

And one more thing. Get baptised as soon as your can if you're not. It's very, very important.
